Your Personal Engagement Plan
As you know, this is the culmination of your nine-month experience with Kansas City Tomorrow. In preparing your plan, keep a few things in mind:
By far the most important aspect is that you have, through the process of exposure to issues, ideas, strategies, leaders, you have a clearer idea of your own personal passion. This is an evolving process. Now it’s time to clarify, validate and frankly, probe deeply into yourself to see what you’re passionate about and want to work on.
‘Dialing up and dialing down,’ taking the guilt out of engagement. Ask yourself, at this time in my life, what do I have the time and energy to commit to.
This plan is not cast in concrete, it’s more of an expression of your personal direction; knowing where you are headed and how to get there.
Your “Why” doesn’t change. If you are passionate about underserved children getting a good education or girls embracing a STEM careers or adults getting a second chance after incarceration, your “Why” doesn’t change but Your “How” often changes a lot over time.
