Judge Jon R. Gray (Ret.) joins KCT this year as Co-facilitator. Judge Gray was a member of the KCT cohort for KCT Year IV. He is a graduate of Grinnell College (Iowa) and the UMKC School of Law, he has enjoyed a varied legal career that includes government service, private law practice, a judicial career spanning more than 20 years and a career as a partner at Shook Hardy and Bacon, LLP.

He  served as the Chair of the National Bar Association Judicial Council and as a member of the Jackson County Sports Complex Authority and the Missouri Citizens’ Commission on Compensation for Elected Officials. He has served on numerous nonprofit boards during his career and encourages board service as a form of commitment to community betterment. He presently serves as a trustee of Grinnell College and as a member of the boards of the Kansas City Repertory Theater and of American Public Square. Judge Gray offers private adjudication and legal consulting services as the sole member of Gray Legal strategies KC, LLC. He is married to dr. Valerie E. Chow, a retired physician and community volunteer. Together, they have two adult sons and on grandson.
